Week 11-12 - January 23rd - February 4th

Jesse Bame and David Lepeska

This was a good week for our 140 pounders. Both David Lepeska and Jesse Bame qualified for the regional tournament at 140 for this coming weekend. Freshman Jesse Bame in his first year of wrestling has quickly developed into one of the better wrestlers in the league. He proved that at the league tournament by placing 3rd and earning a trip to the regional tournament. Junior David Lepeska a state qualifier last year won his first league title last weekend. Both wrestlers are very athletic. That accompanied with their unrelenting work ethic has produced great results for them so for this season.

Week 10 - January 16th - 21st

Justin Bishop

Justin had an outstanding week winning the Seahawk invitational. Justin has been a great addition to this year's team. Despite being a first year freshman he has been invaluable to the team. He was asked to wrestle varsity for our league dual meet against Evergreen and responded with a victory by major decision.

Week 9 - January 9th - January 14th

Patrick Fleming

Patrick puts in time after practice daily working on his conditioning. His hard work is paying off as he went 6-0 last week. Winning both league dual matches against Highline and Renton. He also went 4-0 at the West Seattle Tournament and placed first.

Week 8 - January 2nd - January 7th

Cody Cox

Co-Captain Cody Cox was selected wrestler of the week for week 8. He was 6-2 on the week. Winning both of his dual matches and going 4-2 at the Rainshadow tournament placing 4th. Cody presently has 18 wins on the season. Cody's leadership in the practice room has been a big part of the team's success this season. He has been inspirational to the other wrestlers on the team.

Week 7 - December 26th - December 31st

Aaron Shoults

Aaron has been the team's leader all season. He was voted captain by his fellow wrestlers at the end of last season. This week he led the team at the Pacific Coast tournament placing 8th in the 34 team tournament. On his way to winning 4 matches at the tournament he beat 2 wrestlers that had beaten him only 2 weeks prior. Aaron's work ethic and determination are an example to all the wrestlers on the team.

Week 6 - December 19th - December 24th

Nam Nguyen

Nam had a great week. He went 2-1 at the freshman tournament. He has made every practice this season. He is extremely intelligent, which has allowed him to excel in learning how to wrestle. Despite being a first year wrestler he is starting to reap the benefit of all the hard work he has put in this season. He also went 2-1 at the Franklin Pierce tournament last week.

Week 5 - December 12th - December 17th

Kevin Colbern

Kevin had a great week. He went 2-0 in our double dual against Sequim and Kennedy. Coming from behind to beat the Sequim wrestler 8-6 in the final seconds of the 3rd period. At the Shelton Invite he went 3-2 coming from behind in 2 of the 3 wins. Kevin never stops wrestling. His determination has paid off as he has came from behind to win many matches this year in the 3rd period.

Week 4 - December 5th - December 10th

David Lopez and Justin Barton

This week was a good week for the team. We won dual matches against league opponents Tyee and Lindbergh as well as attending a varsity and JV tournament on Saturday. With so many outstanding performances their was an abundance of candidates for wrestler of the week, so we chose two. David Lopez and Justin Barton both had outstanding weeks. David Lopez ran his record to 7-1 with wins against Tyee and Lindberg and a third place finish at the George Wilfong tournament. Justin Barton had a outstanding week also winning the JV tournament at Franklin Pierce.

Week 3 - November 28th - December 3rd

Collin O'Donnell

Colin is looking extremely tough this year. He has come into this season focused for his senior year. In the practice room he is pushing himself harder then ever. He had a good tournament on Saturday wrestling at whatever weight the team needed him.

Week 2 - November 21st - November 26th

Corey Muma

Corey had a good week.  His hard work in practice this week paid off as he went 5-0 at the takedown tournament at Clover Park.

Week 1 - November 14th - November 19th

Rhemond Slish

Rhemond had a good week of practice.  His work ethic and commitment are outstanding.  He has been active everyday absorbing as much information as he can.  Despite not having wrestled before he looks like a seasoned veteran on the mat.
